life coaching requires commitment

Personal Life Coaching

I believe that life coaching requires much more than offering advice. It requires a deep commitment to working through the complex interconnected aspects of the client's life, and providing motivation and support through difficult circumstances and decisions.

My approach to coaching is influenced by my experience in motivation and goal-setting as a management consultant to large organisations including Nestle, Guinness, Littlewoods, Norwich Union, Citigroup and Deutsche Bank. I also draw on my doctoral studies in value theory.

As a therapist I believe that we all have the resources within ourselves to effect change towards achieving our goals. In our coaching sessions I will often use hypnosis as a way of allowing you to utilise your resources more effectively.

Working within your own unique circumstances

While some people may share constraints and concerns that are similar to your own, no two lives are identical. I will help you learn to manage your own circumstances in a way that meets your own values and needs.

Identifying what you really want

As your life coach I help you to evaluate your goals and ambitions in terms of the things that are really important to you. It can be difficult to know what you want - it can be even more difficult to know why you want it.

Learning from what you're good at

Having a good support network of friends or family can be a great asset but your biggest resource (by far) is yourself. We will take the skills and motivations that have made you successful in one area of your life and apply them to new challenges.

Recognising what's stopping you

Together we will understand the things that are holding you back, and help you plan how to move forward - in the direction that we've discovered is right for you.

Going the distance

We all need motivation to maintain focus and stop us going off course. A good coach understands what type of motivation you respond to best. Measurable short-term goals with regular reviews will also help to keep you on track.
